Biscuits and sausage gravy is a camping tradition that goes back to the beginning of time. Easy to throw together first thing in the morning.
Standard kitchen kit
Cast iron skillet
Morton's Kosher Salt

Before You Leave Home
Combine your flour and black pepper in a zip-top bag or resealable container.
At the Campsite
Cook the breakfast sausage in a cast iron pan over medium-high heat until no longer pink. About 10 minutes.
Reduce the heat to medium-low and sprinkle the flour mixture over the sausage until it has been completely absorbed by the fat. About 3 minutes.
Slowly stir in the milk, stirring constantly, and cook at a low simmer until it thickens. If it over thickens, stir in a little more milk until it reaches the correct consistency.
Taste for salt and adjust, if necessary.
